Location: 192 Horseferry Road, Westminster
Main contractor ISG InteriorExterior has completed work on a 52 week project to refurbish 192 Horseferry Road. The £21 million refurbishment involved building an additional storey onto the building. GKR Scaffolding won the scaffold contract and a total of 10260 sq m of scaffolding surrounded the building.
The HAKI 750 temporary roof which was in place was a total of 2720 sq m, and was the largest roof in place in London at the time of construction, essential for weather protection of the site whilst works were undertaken. The roof systems unique track system allowed easy access for daily on-site deliveries which were craned into place, each section of the whole roof being moveable, taking approx 10 minutes to unroll. The speed of opening and closure was essential when the weather conditions were poor. GKR Scaffolding are only one of a few Scaffolding companies in the South East and London area to use this roof system which is highly effective on projects of this kind.
GKR Scaffolding also provided 12nr scaffolders on a full time daily basis
