TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR F.C.
Creating the largest single staircase structure in the UK using the Layher system.
Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Club are building their new ground adjacent to the existing stadium.
Phase one of the work required access into a section of the East and North stands on match days for the supporters to use as the original staircases were being removed during the demolition of the North East corner.
GKR installed two external staircases to be used by supporters on match days.
The staircases had to be designed to take a load of 5kN/m2 on every level at any one time and had to meet the stadia green guide for clear access routes.
The north staircase is the largest single stair case structure in the UK that has been installed using the Layher system. The footprint for the overall North Stair is 14m long x 13m wide x 17m high.
Both staircases were built to programme and signed off by the building control to enable them to be operational for the first home game of the 16/17 season.
