Royal Institution of Great Britain
The Royal Institution is a home for everyone interested in science, irrespective of whether they have a scientific background or not. Their vision is that a visit to the Royal Institution should be as stimulating and interesting as a visit to a concert or the cinema, yet even more relevant and controversial. During 2007, the Royal Institution's Grade 1 listed building on Albemarle Street is being refurbished in a 54 week project. GKR Scaffolding is the main scaffold contractors for ISG InteriorExterior. The total cost of the refurbishment work will be in the region of £13 million. The scaffold consists of all main external scaffold to the front and rear of the building, a HAKI 750 roof and a birdcage scaffold over the Faraday Theatre. The project value to GKR Scaffolding is £310k. The Royal Institution is expected to fully open to the public in June 2008.
