GKR has now commenced work on the £850,000 main access scaffold at 190 Great Portland Street, the main external scaffold is 7000 square meter's, with internal atrium scaffolds exceeding 6500 sqm. The loading gantry has all been constructed using steel girders to allow full shop front spans and to accommodate the loadings from the fully boarded main scaffold. The main building is to have a HAKITEC temporary roof which will be one of the largest erected in London at this time. The scaffold roof will be 81 metres in length with a massive 35 metre clear span.
